EARLY STAGE GROWTH

Find your first SaaS customers in real conversations

Before you need a bigger audience, you need a few people with the right problem. Start with a narrow use case you can explain without a slide deck.

Choose one customer and one job

“Small businesses” is too broad to guide a search. “Freelance designers chasing overdue invoices” gives you a person, a situation, and words to look for. Write down the current workaround and the cost of leaving it unchanged.

Use only capabilities your product already supports. If you sell invoice reminders, do not search for accounting automation and then promise bookkeeping. A tighter promise makes it easier to recognize a good conversation.

Build a small set of intent phrases

Try a pain phrase such as “unpaid invoices,” an alternative such as “invoice reminder tool,” and a situation such as “chasing payments.” Read results and notice the words people actually use.

If results are mostly vendors, add a need signal or change the phrase. If they are empty, shorten it. Discovery works through iteration; a zero-result query is a reason to try another angle, not evidence that nobody needs the product.

Measure conversations you can act on

Count useful opportunities separately from posts screened. Fifty posts about your industry can produce no customers if none of the authors has a relevant need. A smaller set of specific requests can be more useful.

After replying, note whether the person asked a question, visited through your own analytics, signed up, or explained why the product does not fit. Start tiny reports discovered opportunities and product mentions; it does not claim to measure sales or visits to your destination website.

Use the workflow, then improve the product brief

Start tiny reads your website and suggests an editable product brief. Correct anything vague before connecting X and subscribing. Each added website has its own subscription and post budget.

The Starter plan screens up to 800 X posts per month for $19. Growth screens up to 4,500 for $99. These are screening allowances, not promised leads. Open a useful match for a linked AI reply, edit it to sound like you, and copy it into the original X conversation. Use what people tell you to sharpen both your product and future searches.
